Is God calling you to be a Missionary?

More than two hundred Oklahomans have heard and answered the call to missions during the past six years. Each one has come home excited and inspired about being a part of God's work. They have also made a difference in God's work south of our border in Mexico.

Oklahoma Mexico Mission had it's beginning in 1997, when Pastor's Harvey Kornegay and James Shires led a team to central Mexico to help finish a church that had been sitting half completed for seven years. Included in the building project was evangelism, Vacation Bible School, and medical work. We have also done English language classes, community service projects, and general friendship evangelism.

In the past six years the Oklahoma Mexico Mission teams have completed four churches, raised the walls on a new one, painted an orphanage, as well as helping to complete Sabbath School classes. Hundreds of children, youth, and adults have come to evangelistic meetings, with many being baptized. Many more have been helped with medical clinics and community service needs (food, clothing, and blankets).

Our Adventist churches and pastors have been encouraged and strengthened and some have experienced great growth. It has been a wonderful experience watching the Lord bless mission work by the Oklahoma Conference in Mexico.

People of all ages have gone; from youth to seniors. They have heard the call and found the blessing of service greater than any other. Is it possible that God is calling you to go in 2003? Pray about it. If you have any questions contact Pastors James Shires, Rex Shores, Harvey Kornegay, or Robbie Valentin.

Our trips are during the Spring Break of the Conference Schools. Many public school youth have gone also. Next year's trip will be March 7-17. The location of the trip will be chosen this September during the annual pre-trip.

By signing up today you can be put on a monthly mailing list and contacted about future meetings. We will be having a meeting during campmeeting at 5:30 pm in the minister's room in the main auditorium. There will also be an organizational meeting in October after the pre-trip to give details about next year's trip.

We also have an annual orientation weekend at Wewoka in February. It will be the first weekend in February. This weekend helps to prepare us for the March mission trip.

Pray about your involvement in next year's trip. You can begin by signing up today and we will send you an application, as well as keep you informed with a monthly newsletter.
